Badassery.

Word of the day:

Badassery.

When I was a girl of 9 or 10, I learned of Kawaski Motorcycles. Not sure how I was introduced (or why I immediately loved them) but it made sense to buy the miniature die-casts and the T-shirts.

I dreamed of a day when I would own my own motorcycle and, of course, being influenced by my Barbie Camper (pink) my dream bike would also be PINK

Time passed, children were born, college tuitions and weddings were paid for and houses were bought.

I never bought that bike.

I did meet my twin soul, Mike (who owned a Yamaha Raider) and we rode it for 5 years until my body made it clear that its not built for bikes.

Today, I followed this lady through Red Wing and was SO happy to see a young woman with her own bike!

She had the perfect balance of black leather and pink bling!

Seeing her this morning made me think of my own youth and the struggle between two labels.

Girly girl / Tom boy.

I never really fit into either camp.

I was an athlete who loved beauty products and makeup.

I was outdoorsy and loved bougee camping accessories.

I was competitive and could give the boys a massive dose of whopass while sprinkling glitter all the way.

Seeing this young lady today with her worn-in leather and two bows in her braided hair made me think...times have changed.

You can actually be all that AND a bag of chips!

No more, either or!

Badassery! Pass it on! #herstory#kindjourney #mommalisasbragbag
